Joining the SL3, released in 2024, and the SL3-S from 2025, the new model is positioned as the most capable camera in the SL series to date, combining high-resolution stills with advanced video features.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alongside the camera, Leica also announced two new L-mount lenses: the Summilux-SL 50mm F\/1.4 ASPH and the APO-Macro-Elmarit-SL 100mm F\/2.8, further expanding the company&#8217;s premium autofocus lens lineup.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>A New 44MP Sensor and Hybrid Autofocus<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the heart of the SL3-P is a newly developed 44-megapixel back-side illuminated full-frame sensor. Leica says the sensor strikes a balance between resolution, dynamic range, and low-light performance, offering up to 14 stops of dynamic range and a native ISO range of 50 to 200,000.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The camera also introduces a new hybrid autofocus system that combines phase detection, depth mapping, and contrast detection autofocus. Apple ProRes recording is also supported at resolutions up to 5.8K.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leica has also added two built-in LUTs\u2014Leica Pure and Leica Cine\u2014for footage recorded in L-Log. These provide different starting points for color grading while maintaining flexibility for professional post-production workflows.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Familiar Leica Design<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Externally, the SL3-P follows Leica&#8217;s minimalist design philosophy and omits the iconic red Leica badge for a cleaner appearance.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The camera body is constructed from solid metal and carries an IP54 rating for protection against dust and water splashes. Like other SL cameras, it uses the L-Mount Alliance system, giving photographers access to a broad selection of lenses from Leica, Sigma, Panasonic, and other alliance partners.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<p><iframe title=\"Leica SL3-P Tutorial - 02 Video Features\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_J_ZZ_5QuKE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Summilux-SL 50mm F\/1.4 ASPH<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Joining the new camera is the Leica Summilux-SL 50mm F\/1.4 ASPH, which Leica describes as its most compact autofocus 50mm F\/1.4 lens for the SL system.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The lens features an optical design incorporating eleven aperture blades, two aspherical elements, and specially selected glass types designed to deliver Leica&#8217;s signature rendering and smooth out-of-focus areas.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Built with a full-metal barrel, the lens measures 75.5mm in length, weighs 584g, and carries an IP54 weather-resistance rating. Leica&#8217;s AquaDura coating also helps protect the front element from moisture and dirt.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>APO-Macro-Elmarit-SL 100mm F\/2.8<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leica also introduced the APO-Macro-Elmarit-SL 100mm F\/2.8, inspired by the classic APO-Macro-Elmarit-R 100mm F\/2.8 from 1987.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new lens features an apochromatic optical design aimed at minimizing chromatic aberration while delivering high levels of sharpness and contrast. Its 100mm focal length also makes it suitable for portraits in addition to close-up photography.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The full-metal lens measures 137.6mm in length and weighs 862g, including the supplied lens hood.
