Sony has reportedly registered three new cameras, setting off a fresh wave of speculation about what could be coming next.

While the company hasn’t announced anything officially, the filings suggest that multiple new models are in development—potentially spanning its mirrorless, cinema, and compact camera lines.

Three Models, Three Possibilities

The information, first reported by Sony Alpha Rumors, points to three separate registrations with different code names.

One model, listed as WW721795, reportedly lacks Wi-Fi 6 support. That detail has led to speculation that it could be a more entry-level camera or possibly a new ZV-series model.

Another, WW679476, is described as a camcorder with Wi-Fi 6. This has sparked rumors of a new FX-series cinema camera, with some suggesting it could be an FX30 II.

The third registration, WW847606, is the most interesting of the group. It’s widely rumored to be tied to the upcoming Sony A7R VI, though some reports suggest it could also be a higher-end FX model.

A7R VI Still the Most Anticipated

If WW847606 does turn out to be the A7R VI, it would likely be Sony’s next high-resolution flagship.

Previous rumors suggest the camera could feature a new 67-megapixel full-frame sensor, an updated processor, and improved video capabilities—including 8K30p and 4K120p recording.

There have also been reports pointing to a possible May 2026 announcement, though nothing has been confirmed.

FX and RX Lines Also in Play

Beyond the A7R VI, attention is also on Sony’s cinema lineup. With competitors like Canon and Nikon continuing to expand their video-focused cameras, a refreshed FX model—possibly an FX30 II or even an updated FX3—would make sense.

There’s also speculation that one of the registered models could be a new RX-series compact, though details there are even more limited.

Still Early Days

As with most registration leaks, details are still thin and subject to change.

Sony hasn’t confirmed any of these cameras, and product codes don’t always map cleanly to final releases. Still, the number of registrations suggests that the company is preparing for a busy stretch of announcements.

For now, it’s all speculation—but if even part of these rumors hold, Sony could be gearing up to refresh multiple parts of its lineup in the coming months.
