One of the more important upgrades is the move to 10-bit D-Log2 recording. Unlike the standard Pocket 4, which uses regular D-Log, the Pocket 4P is designed with more advanced color grading workflows in mind.

D-Log2 is intended for demanding lighting environments and cinematic production. The profile preserves more highlight and shadow detail, giving filmmakers and creators additional flexibility during post-production.

Improved Low-Light Performance

DJI also says the Osmo Pocket 4P features an upgraded imaging system for improved low-light shooting. Promotional materials specifically highlight nighttime city scenes and indoor filming scenarios.

While DJI still has not released a complete spec sheet, rumors suggest the camera may support high frame rate recording and improved still image quality over previous Pocket models.

“Following the global success of its predecessor, the Osmo Pocket 4P builds on a growing movement in which compact cameras are reshaping how stories are created and shared,” DJI says.

The company also positions the Pocket 4P as part of a broader creator ecosystem alongside DJI’s audio, stabilization, and filmmaking accessories.

Pricing and Availability

DJI has not yet revealed official pricing or configuration details for the Osmo Pocket 4P. The company says more information will be announced at a later date.

Availability in the United States also remains uncertain. Recent DJI products have not officially launched in the US due to ongoing FCC approval issues.

A Detachable Screen on a Pocket Camera

New images shared online suggest that the Luna Ultra’s entire controller section—including the OLED display—can detach from the camera body.

That means users can control the camera remotely while also getting a live view feed, making it much easier to frame shots from a distance or film themselves without guessing composition.

If true, this could be one of the most interesting features we’ve seen on a pocket vlogging camera so far.

The concept is somewhat similar to DJI’s FrameTap controller on the Osmo Mobile 8P or the Hohem iSteady MT3 Pro remote system. For solo creators, livestreamers, or anyone shooting talking-head videos, this could make setup and framing dramatically easier.

The Controller Does More Than Just Display Video

According to the leak, the detachable unit supports up to 4K30p live view monitoring and also displays camera settings, zoom levels, and recording information.

Physical controls on the remote reportedly include a red record button, joystick, directional pad, and several customizable function buttons. There’s also a status LED and full wireless connectivity between the controller and camera.

Dual Cameras and Leica-Tuned Optics

The Luna Ultra is also rumored to feature a dual-camera system with Leica co-engineered optics and bright F/1.8 apertures. Reports point to a Type 1 sensor setup paired with advanced video specs, including 4K240p recording, 10-bit color, Dolby Vision HDR, and I-Log support.

Leica color profiles are also expected to be included, giving creators more cinematic color options straight out of the camera.

Up to 6x Lossless Zoom

Like the rumored DJI Osmo Pocket 4P, the Luna Ultra is expected to support up to 6x lossless zoom using in-sensor cropping.

That should give creators more flexibility when framing shots without heavily sacrificing image quality.

Compact but Surprisingly Powerful

Battery life is reportedly rated at up to 180 minutes of continuous recording using a 1500mAh battery.

Even with the detachable controller system, the entire setup is said to weigh around 150g, which is impressively lightweight considering the rumored specs.

Pricing and Availability

Insta360 has not officially announced pricing for the Luna or Luna Ultra yet.

Current rumors suggest the Luna Ultra could launch around the $735 price range, putting it directly against DJI’s Osmo Pocket 4 and the upcoming Pocket 4P.

The Insta360 Luna series is expected to launch sometime in Q2 2026.
