Insta360 Launches Mic Pro With Customizable E-Ink Display and 32-Bit Float Audio

Customizable E-Ink DisplayInsta360 has officially announced the Mic Pro, the company’s new flagship wireless microphone system. First teased at NAB 2026 in Las Vegas, the Mic Pro combines professional audio features with a unique customizable display and onboard internal recording.
The new mic is clearly aimed at creators, filmmakers, livestreamers, and anyone looking for a more advanced alternative to compact wireless systems currently on the market.
Customizable E-Ink Display
The standout feature of the Mic Pro is its customizable E-Ink display. Using the Insta360 app, users can upload graphics, logos, text, or speaker names directly onto the transmitter.
Insta360 chose E-Ink instead of OLED to improve battery efficiency and visibility outdoors. The screen remains easy to read even under direct sunlight, making it practical for outdoor shoots and events.
“Your microphone is no longer just a tool. It carries your name, your logo, your identity, all the way through to the shot,” Insta360 says.
Three-Microphone Array With Polar Patterns
Unlike most wireless microphones that rely on a single omnidirectional capsule, the Mic Pro features a three-microphone array. Insta360 says the system can emulate different polar pickup patterns depending on the recording scenario.
Users can choose between Omnidirectional, Cardioid, and Figure-8 modes directly from the receiver or companion app. This gives creators more flexibility for interviews, livestreams, podcasts, ASMR, and ambient recording.
AI Noise Reduction and 32-Bit Float Recording
The Mic Pro also introduces AI-powered noise cancellation using an onboard NPU chip. Insta360 says the system intelligently reduces wind, crowd noise, and environmental distractions while maintaining vocal clarity.
For creators who need more headroom during recording, the Mic Pro supports internal 32-bit float recording. This greatly reduces the risk of clipped audio and gives editors more flexibility during post-production.
Built-In Storage and Stereo Recording
Each transmitter includes 32GB of internal storage, enough for roughly 45 hours of audio recording. Files are automatically split every 30 minutes to avoid interruptions caused by file size limitations.
The Mic Pro also supports stereo internal recording for capturing environmental ambience and immersive soundscapes. Auto Gain Control includes both Prevent Clipping and Dynamic modes, depending on the recording environment.
Multi-Camera and Direct Camera Pairing
The receiver supports up to four transmitters connected simultaneously, allowing isolated multi-track recording for interviews, productions, and podcasts. There is also a 2-to-4 broadcast mode for more advanced multi-camera workflows.
The Mic Pro can pair directly with Insta360 cameras, including the X5, X4 Air, Ace Pro 2, and Go Ultra via Bluetooth. This removes the need to attach a separate receiver directly to the camera.
Timecode Support and Battery Life
Insta360 has also added professional timecode synchronization support using a high-precision TCXO oscillator. The system reportedly maintains less than one frame of drift across 24 hours.
Battery life is rated at up to 10 hours per transmitter, while the charging case extends total operating time to roughly 30 hours. Fast charging is supported as well, with a 5-minute charge delivering about one hour of recording time.
